The aerial imagery acquisition was flown to support the creation of aerial photography with a scale of 1 to 20,000. Imagery was collected with a camera possessing a focal length of 6 inches under U.S.D.A. program 660-42.

The Mark Hurd Air Mapping Corporation collected aerial photography through a series of 10 flight lines. The negatives were then used to produce various print products, of which 9x9 prints were obtained by the State of Vermont and the University of Vermont (paper copies also exist at the U.S. National Archives). These prints were later digitally scanned at varying resolutions (600 and 1000 dpi, exact dates unknown).

88 digitized photos were obtained by the Vermont Center for Geographic Information in TIFF format from the UVM Map Library, the Vermont Agency of Transportation, and the Vermont Geological Survey from 2005-2017. Scanned indexes were obtained from the Vermont State Archives and Records Administration and used to construct a digital polygon index using ArcGIS. "Georeferenced" images were exported to include world files and compressed using the JPEG2000 format and a compression factor of 18:1. Total series is estimated to include 1685 photos; these images may be available in hardcopy from VSARA under container number USSCS-00003 to USSCS-00005.
