Archived prior-year school-districts and supervisory-union layers from dataset; going forward, feature-class Boundary_SCHOOLBNDS_poly_districts (school districts) and feature-class Boundary_SCHOOLBNDS_poly_sunions (supervisory unions) are to be maintained yearly in situ (instead of creating new layers each FY). Added population density to school districts via new field named PopDensity--as population per land-area square-mile; the method for calculating population density is: 1. Generate centroid counterparts of Census 2020 blocks. 2. Summarize population and land area (in square miles) of Census-block centroids--per spatial relationship with school districts (Summarize Within)--to calculate values into PopDensity field in school-districts layer. NOTE: School-district boundaries typically coincide with Census-block boundaries. However, there are some areas where school district boundaries traverse across Census-block polygons (the lowest level of Census geography). Supervisory Unions-- Split the town of Lincoln from Mt. Abraham USD to its own SU (“Lincoln SD”). Removed the name “Chittenden East SU”; updated to “Mt. Mansfield UUSD”.
School Districts-- Split the town of Lincoln from Mt. Abraham USD to its own SD (“Lincoln SD”). Split the town of Stowe from Lamoille South UUSD to its own SD (“Stowe”). Removed “Barnard” SD specific to the town of Barnard. This SD was erroneous; Barnard belongs only to Windsor Central MUSD. Removed the name “Chittenden East SU”; updated to “Mt. Mansfield UUSD”. Removed “Huntington” SD specific to the town of Huntington. The town of Huntington belongs only to Mt. Mansfield UUSD. Added the town of Windham to West River MUSD. The town of Windham belongs to two SDs--Windham and West River MUSD. Based on the above edits, the population density was recalculated for the following school districts--Lincoln SD, Mt.
