Abstract:
This metadata applies to contours derived from Quality Level 2 (QL2) Lidar 'collections' with a resolution (RESCLASS) of 0.7m. For an overview of the VCGI Lidar Program please see 'VCGI.VERMONT.GOV/LIDAR'. For original vendor metadata and reports containing specific details on each data collection, e.g., 'point cloud' flight dates, nominal pulse spacing, RMSEz and more, navigate to https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1BFtJiwqPrO5iJ_HeSS8TeSrP-6xDo7RI. NOTE: The QL2 (0.7m) collections FOCUS reports contain myriad collection details in report form. The equivalent for the older QL3 collections are generally the “Project Reports". NOTE - QL2 contours were produced from 5 source collections possessing slightly different datums. Their respective datums are as follows: 2017 Western VT - NAD 83 (2011); 2016 Mid-CT River VT - NAD 83 (2011); 2015 Windham_VT - NAD 83 (NSRS 2007); 2014 'Eastern' VT - NAD 83 (2011); 2013 Rutland_VT_Lidar_Data - NAD 83. Classified LAS files (source data) were tested by Quantum Spatial for both vertical and horizontal accuracy. All data is seamless from one tile to the next, no gaps or no data areas.

The specifications require that only Fundamental Vertical Accuracy (FVA) be computed for raw lidar point cloud swath files. The vertical accuracy was tested with independent survey locations in open terrain (varies by collection). These check points were not used in the calibration or post processing of the lidar point cloud data. The survey checkpoints were distributed throughout the project area. Specifications for this project require that the FVA be 18.13 cm or better AccuracyZ at 95 percent confidence level.
